Serving the Best Casseroles

You don’t need to be a professional chef to cook the best casseroles. To have memorable meals you just need to get the right ingredients and of course, a love for cooking.

Chicken with Wine

To begin, prepare the following ingredients:

Chicken breasts (it should be sliced into cubes and cooked already). Also some salt (1 tsp), curry (1/2 tsp) and pepper (1/2 tsp). You’ll also need orange or lemon juice (squeeze from one or two) and a can of water chestnuts (sliced).

Also get a cup each of peas, pimento and white wine. Chicken soup (2 to 3 cans), mushrooms (take a whole can, drain and slice into small pieces) and some cheese (shredded).

What makes this one of the best casseroles is that the hard work is just the preparation of the ingredients. Just put everything in a pot. Bake for half an hour at 350 F, and you’re done.

Hotdogs with Cheese

The ingredients are hotdogs (2 pounds), minced celery (1 cup) and butter (1 tbsp). A cup each of green onions and sage is needed. Also prepare a teaspoon each of salt and pepper, a cup of milk and shredded cheese (8 oz).

Begin by sautéing the celery using the butter for about 4 minutes. Afterwards put in the onions and stir for a couple more minutes. Put them in a container and set aside. Slice the hotdogs in bite size chunks and sauté until they become brownish. Divide the hotdogs so some are in the container with the onions while some are in a separate bowl.

Mix the eggs with the milk and place them in the bowl with the hotdogs and onions. Add some cheese. Now pour everything into a pot. Bake for half an hour at 370 F. When finished, top it off with the hotdogs in the separate bowl and you’ve got one of the best casseroles in hand.

Spaghetti Delights

Prepare the following: spaghetti (cooked, at least 10 oz), a cup of Parmesan cheese, frozen spinach (an 8 oz package will be enough), sour cream (1 cup), garlic powder (1 tsp), French onion rings (1 can), a couple of lightly beaten eggs, and milk (1/4 cup).

Begin by defrosting the spinach (if you haven’t already). Next take the spaghetti and cut into smaller pieces (about two inches will be nice). Get a pan (approximately 9 x 13) and butter it. Leave it aside for now.

Get a bowl and put in the spinach, eggs, milk, cheese and sour cream, Mix well. Add the spaghetti noodles and mix well again. This is one of the best casseroles already, but for the final touch add the French onion rings. Now carefully pour the mixture on the buttered pan. Put it in the oven. Close it and bake at 350 F.

After 30 minutes remove the pan and sprinkle more onion rings. Put it back in and allow it to bake for another five minutes or so. Do not bake it at a lower temperature, nor should you hurry the process. Doing so could affect the food and result in inferior taste. When it is finally done, this dish can serve up to four plates.
